I have been a full licence holder for 33 years and in recent times my confidence around travel further afield has diminished. I hated roundabouts and would avoid journeys with them on. I approached Gemma Palmer ADI and spoke about these issues and she took me out on an assessment drive and soon we recognized it was my knowledge that was slightly lacking around roundabouts, signs and lane discipline. I went on a 2-hour refresher lesson with Gemma and the penny dropped. She provided different ways of learning, I am a visual learner so we parked up near roundabouts and watched the flow of traffic, lane discipline and had discussions along with a variety of teaching materials made available. She had an easy way of explaining the things I was in a tangle with and soon enough I was driving busy multi-lane roundabouts with ease. I now don't feel as anxious.
I contacted Gemma Palmer ADI and she was so polite, very professional and went above and beyond to go out of her way to accept me as a student with her. From the get-go, she was very informative, gave lots of information/links to things I needed to know BEFORE I had even had my first lesson. In my first lesson, she was very approachable, super down to earth & one of the most genuine people I have ever met. From getting into the car & spending just one two hour lesson with her I have learned more than I learned on previous driving lessons with other tutors. Her attention to detail when explaining something, as well as showing you physically and talking you through step by step she is fantastic. I felt safe, I gained knowledge, had a good driving experience, all whilst having fun with Gemma as a person. Couldn't recommend anyone more!

The one thing I look forward to each week is my lesson's with Gemma Palmer ADI. I can't thank her enough for teaching me. She makes the lesson's so interesting and breaks them down like dance steps to help you remember. Gemma has a soft tone to her voice when giving instructions while having a laugh and making it interesting at the same time. My last lesson was the day we heard on the radio there was going to be an announcement of a second lockdown while I'm trying to do bay parking. Seems like months ago now. Can't wait for my next lesson. Thanks again Gemma for giving me the confidence I needed. Stay safe.
I am a learner driver with Gemma Palmer ADI. Gemma is extremely kind and welcoming in all of her lessons and makes you feel confident and comfortable! My favourite lesson was when doing junctions because at the start of the lesson I was extremely nervous and unsure about my driving but after we had practised and we stopped so she could show me visually but also to observe other drivers and she talked me through the steps it was so much clearer to see the steps and has now enabled me to feel more confident in myself and my driving! She’s an amazing instructor and I couldn’t recommend her enough! She will make you enjoy your driving experience.

I have had many driving lessons with Gemma Palmer ADI which have been second to none this year.
As an older adult, I have struggled with anxiety and confidence surrounding driving which has put me off, until I met Gemma.
She has a calm way, coaches and doesn't tell you what to do like horror stories you hear, she gets me to find my own answers. We have a laugh and I look forward to all my lessons.
She is professional, has a clean car and is on time. She has been flexible with my disabilities and needs and has not rushed me into anything. I can't thank her enough for all my new gained confidence and skills.

Gemma Palmer ADI is a great driving instructor and although I’ve only had a couple of lessons I already feel much more confident. She has helped me get a better understanding of driving and be at ease with other traffic on the road, something that I think is very important to ensure other road users don’t rush or intimidate you.
Already I have tried a few manoeuvres and found them not to be so scary as imagined. Taking your time and listening to the hints and tips she offers helps to solidify theory in practice.
I would recommend Gemma to anyone thinking of learning to drive. She is friendly, laid back and very patient of personal circumstances or difficulties you have. The car is easy to drive, modern and has features that improve comfort and usability.

Gemma Palmer ADI is such an amazing driving instructor, had 20 hours worth of lessons before lockdown and already progressed loads, is easy to get along with and can speak to her about anything in a friendly manner, which I personally think is the best way to be with there pupils, I highly recommend to anyone wanting driving lessons with a lovely instructor who knows what she is on about!! Makes sure I am safe whenever I’m driving the car constantly talking about the theory side of driving as well, she’s amazing!
I am an older learner driver who has recently started having driving lessons with Gemma Palmer ADI. I had lessons many years ago with a different instructor that wasn't pleasant and left me lacking in confidence so I stopped until recently. I plucked up the courage to try again and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love my lessons now. Gemma is a fantastic teacher who makes learning interesting and fun in a way that I can remember. Learning at my pace. I feel so much more confident and have the willingness to do it I would definitely recommend her. It's never too late.

I’m currently learning with Gemma Palmer ADI, she is an amazing driving instructor!! As soon as you get in the car, she makes you feel comfortable and relaxed - nothings a hassle for Gemma.
Every lesson, there’s always something new that makes you engaged with it. Gemma also doesn’t mind taking time on areas that I tend to struggle on, even if they are repetitive.
As well as this, Gemma is one of the nicest people out there. Every lesson is full of laughs and smiles! Thankyou Gemma!
I have started my driving lesson with Gemma Palmer ADI. I found Gemma easy to get along with, she talks to me in a way that makes me feel confident in both my ability and helps me feel confident behind the wheel. I just need to thank you for taking Isabelle on the final step of her journey learning to drive.
As you know, I stepped in as ‘instructor’ back in February to make sure she didn’t suffer the consequences of all the lockdowns and bubbles.
From the nervous Saturday and Sunday afternoons down Watermeadows (never getting out of 3rd gear lol), to the dark winter nights of February and March, and ultimately through the spring and summer….
The whole experience was one of the BEST things I’ve ever done with Isabelle, and, finally, when she became your student, you gave her the best support I could have asked for, for her test.
Thank you so much, truth be told, even I was upset yesterday thinking that the two of you had said goodbye after the test lol…
